Join us for a special late-summer evening as Chef Jason Welch returns to Weekend Kitchen for an intimate farm-to-table pop-up dinner under the tent celebrating the very best of Connecticut's harvest season. Jason is working on the theme and menu now!
This multi-course dinner will be inspired by the ingredients available from local farms at the peak of summer abundance. Expect a thoughtfully crafted menu that showcases the beauty of seasonal produce, expertly prepared proteins, and the simple elegance that comes from cooking with ingredients at their freshest. The final menu will be determined by what the fields, gardens, and local purveyors are offering in the days leading up to the event, ensuring a truly unique dining experience. A complimentary welcome cocktail will be made by Jason's mixologist wife Alex!
Chef Jason's culinary journey has taken him from some of the country's most respected kitchens to the fields where great ingredients begin. After graduating from the French Culinary Institute in New York City, he honed his skills at legendary restaurants including Gotham Bar and Grill under acclaimed chef Alfred Portale, Oran Mor Bistro, Craftsteak, Barcelona Restaurant Group, and the award-winning Mill at 2T. His career has spanned Nantucket, Wyoming, and Connecticut, where he served as Chef-Partner of Fork and Fire.
In recent years, Jason's time working at Sub Edge Farm deepened his connection to the land and inspired a renewed culinary vision centered on seasonality, sustainability, and the extraordinary flavors that come from truly fresh ingredients. Today, his cooking reflects both his classical training and his passion for celebrating what local farms produce at their peak.
This promises to be a memorable evening of exceptional food, community, and late-summer hospitality.
