Bellocq Teas

user-pic
Sorry it's been a while since I posted on the blog and I hope to be back writing about the shop again!

I've just returned from the NY Gift show where I spent 2 days trying to find new and interesting lines to carry.  One such gem is Bellocq teas.  I've been reading about their teas for quite some time but wanted to sit down and really talk to them about choosing the right selection teas for the shop from their vast well curated collection.  Not to mention tasting some myself before bringing them into the shop.

Since many of our customers love to give tea as a gift I wanted to find a tea that was worthy of this exchange. Not only are Bellocq teas gorgeous to look at from box to tea leaf but they are about the finest teas I have tried.  The Bellocq team has really hit the mark with their fabulous selections.

Bellocq was started by a creative group of individuals that had worked for Martha Stewart.  You can read about their creative past on the Bellocq web site http://www.bellocq.com/pages/about-us.  Their teas are hand crafted from the finest full leaf organic teas and other ingredients.

Last night I tried a sample of Le Hammeau: Organic lemongrass, organic lemon verbena, organic chamomile, organic lavender, organic rose petals, organic mint, organic sage, natural essence.  It was wonderful and a great way to wind down the day before going to sleep.

The description of this and all their teas read like a story- "Beautiful organic herbal blend evocative of a summer meadow. Think: 'Manon of the Spring', meets Marie Antoinette after a stroll through l'orangerie. Organic lemongrass and verbena mingle playfully with lavender, rose petals, mint and sage. Refreshing and light-hearted, Le Hammeau may inspire you to adorn your livestock with blushing pink ribbons too. Caffeine-free, this tisane may be enjoyed all day. Delicious iced as well as hot, serve garnished with thin slices of orange and a sprig of just plucked mint, sage or lavender. "

Some of the teas I ordered for the shop include:
Le Hammeau
The Earl Grey
Marjorelle Mint
Afghani Chi
Little Dickens

Look for them in a few weeks!
